Collision between vehicle, motorcycle leaves one dead in Turlock
generic crime

The driver of a motorcycle that crashed into a sedan Monday afternoon in Turlock has died from his injuries, the Turlock Police Department reported.

The victim was identified as Owen McDonald, 32, of Turlock.

The collision happened at 4:21 p.m. Monday at the intersection of North Golden State Boulevard and Pedras Road.

Officers responded to the scene and discovered the motorcyclist had sustained life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The motorcyclist was headed northbound on N. Golden State Boulevard while the sedan was traveling westbound on Pedras Road. The sedan was beginning a southbound turn onto Golden State Boulevard when it was broadsided by the motorcycle on the driver's side, according to the police department.

"The Turlock Police Department is still in the early stages of investigating this collision, however, investigators can say that speed and alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision," said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

The driver of the sedan is an adult female, who suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to a local area hospital, where she was treated and later released. The driver is cooperating with this investigation, Parmley said. The roadway was partially closed for close to five hours while officers investigated the collision.
