Delores Russell Overlock passed away on Friday, Aug. 6 at Community Regional Hospital in Fresno. Delores was born in 1932 in Calexico, the fourth child born to Steve and Nellie Russell. She graduated from Madera High School in 1950. She spent a good deal of her working life as a waitress at restaurants, including over 30 years at several Denny’s restaurants. She retired from working after 15 years as a Wal-Mart People Greeter in Turlock. She enjoyed being around and talking with people.
She is survived by her sisters, Jeanne Tindal of Missouri, Janet Hibdon of Oregon, and Lillian McMullin and Linda Jones of Madera; brothers, Dennis Russell of Idaho, David Russell of Coarsegold and Gary Russell of Ceres; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Nellie Russell; brothers, Jerald, Wayne and Malvis; and sister, Louise Gault.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14 at Jay’s Chapel in Madera.
