Floydine (Ping) Sorenson, Wenell, Johnson, Nielsen went home to be with her Lord Jesus on March 26, 2013. She was born in Livingston, CA to Soren & Ida Sorensen on January 9, 1924. Ping graduated from Turlock High School and married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence (Tubby) Wenell in 1942. They had three children. Larry (Jean) Wenell, Linda (Gordon) Horn, and Sandy (Terry) Thornton. After Tubby died in 1958 she married Einar Johnson, in 1960 and became Mom to two more children: Sharryl (LeRoy) Lindberg-Friesen and Larry (Joan) Johnson. Einar died five years later and Ping was single for twenty-five years until she married Hubert Nielsen in 1990. She added two more sons to her family: Brian (Nicole) Nielsen and Greg (Julie) Nielsen. Hubert preceded her in death in 2010.
  Ping was known for her joy of life and her love of people; especially little children. She had weekly “Good News Club” meetings in her home for several years. She was a charter member of Monte Vista Chapel where she started and directed the Women’s Ministries, and lead the Children’s Ministry for many years. Ping also worked at The Family Bible Center for fifteen years.          
Her main passion was evangelizing and Missions. She traveled the globe on fifteen different trips to work on projects and help various missionaries in Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Europe, Sweden and Russia. Ping spent three months in Columbia, SA helping in the kitchen at the “New Tribes Mission” school, and two years working in the Library at Alaska Bible College.
She was a fun-loving, special Nana to twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The grand children are: Eric (Wendy) Lindberg, Jennifer (Mark) Lindberg-Schimmoeller, Anne-Marie (Anthony) Cancilla, Michael (Nadia) Wenell, Kristin Johnson, Kimberly Johnson, Matt (Kris) Horn, Shannon (David) LeBaron, Sarah (David) Schulz, Brett (Maria) Thornton, Samantha Nielsen and Zachary Nielsen. Her great grandchildren are: Ryan, Brandon and Dylan Horn, Hailee and Blake LeBaron, Nevan and Easton Schulz, Tristin and Analia Thornton, Soren Lindberg and Alexia Wenell. She will be greatly missed by all!  Memorials can be made to Westside Ministries 950 Columbia Street, Turlock, CA 95380.  Memorial Service will be on Monday, April 1 at 11:00 AM. At Monte Vista Chapel 1619 East Monte Vista Ave. Turlock, CA 95382. Viewing at Allen Mortuary from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning.
