George L. Price, 82, of Sun City West, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Aug. 6. He was born in Big Springs, Kansas on April 12, 1928. George and family lived in Hilmar from 1946 to 1960. He was a member of Hilmar Covenant Church. He was employed with Corey’s Shoe Store in Turlock. George retired in Sun City West, Ariz. in 1992, after many years in the children’s shoe business. Through the years he enjoyed golf, china and oil painting, baking bread, riding his bike, walking, and the fellowship of family and good friends. He was a member of Trinity Bible Church where he served on the Board of Elders. He was a loving husband, wonderful dad and grandpa, and very special to many with whom he shared his life.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Price; daughters, Jeanette (Steve) Schmitt of Fremont, Stephanie (Terry) Gordon of Arkansas; grandchildren, Adrienne and Alan Gordon of Arkansas; brother, Ralph (Dorothy) of Arizona; and sisters, Janice (Irv) Dahlin of Roseville and Louise Hines of Turlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Price; one brother; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 12 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., in Turlock. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 13 at North Hilmar Cemetery, Tegner Road, in Hilmar.
