Warriors basketball face winless team

This might be the break the Cal State Stanislaus women’s basketball team need.

On Thursday, the Warriors, who are 4-4 overall, will face winless Cal State Dominguez Hills in California Collegiate Athletic Association play as part of a two-game road trip to Southern California, as the Dominguez Hills game tips off at 12:30 p.m.

Stanislaus then plays at Cal State L.A. on Friday at 12:30 p.m., which is considered a much tougher task since the Golden Eagles are 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the CCAA. Los Angeles is coming off a 76-48 nonconference win over Western Oregon.

Dominguez Hills’ leading scorer is Ashley Hudson, who averages just under 10 points.

For the Warriors, Katie Busi is third in the conference in scoring with a 17.1 average, while teammate Andreanna Marshall is scoring 13.4 points per game. Stanislaus hasn’t played a CCAA game since edging Humboldt State 81-78 on Dec. 4.
