Turlock golf bests Pitman; CCC Championship is next

Turlock and Pitman High rounded off the 2015 varsity girls golf season with a friendly crosstown and Central California Conference match on Thursday at the Turlock Golf Country Club.

Turlock' pulled off the win over Pitman, 258-273.

Pitman's Taylor Beckwith shot the day's best 41, four over par, while Turlock's best outing came from Brooke Vierra, who also tied Pitman's Diana Calzada for second with a 43.

The win also marks Turlock's conclusion to the season with an 8-2 CCC record, including winning the Mid-Season tournament .

Now, all Turlock must do is defeat Buhach Colony outright to continue their league championship streak.

Pitman, which went through a revamped year with the closing of their home course, found it tough at times but the Pride still pulled off a CCC record of 6-4 behind Beckwith's efforts leading the way and Calzada improving as the year progressed.

Next for both sides will be the CCC Championship tournament at the TGCC with a tee time of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
